Ignition Timing Inspection

Perform "Engine Tune-up Preparation". (See ENGINE TUNE-UP PREPARATION .)
Short the DLC terminal TEN to body GND using a jumper wire.

Select the IGT PID.
Verify that IGT PID within the specification.
Specification
1. BTDC 4°-16° (10°+/-6°)
Increase the engine speed and verify the IGT PID value is advanced.
- If it is not advanced, inspect the following.
  - CKP sensor and related harness. (See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR .)
  - MAF sensor and related harness. (See MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR and INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR .)
