Removal & Installation (B3000)

WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury. Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before working on or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  under FUEL SYSTEM.
  3. Remove the upper intake manifold. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  4. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring from the fuel injectors. See Fig 1.
  5. Disconnect the fuel tube spring lock coupling. See DISCONNECTING (SPRING LOCK COUPLING)  under FUEL LINE CONNECTORS (B2300, B3000, B4000 & TRIBUTE). See Fig 2.
  6. Disconnect the vacuum hose. See Fig 3.
  7. Remove the 4 bolts. See Fig 4.
  8. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold and the fuel injectors as an assembly. See Fig 4.
  9. Remove the fuel injectors. See Fig 5.
  10. Remove and discard the fuel injector "O" ring seals. See Fig 6.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Lubricate the NEW fuel injector "O" ring seals with clean engine oil. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
