Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement: Notes

WARNING:
- Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedure". (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [BP, BP WITH TC] .)
- Remove the timing belt. (See TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the front pipe and exhaust manifold insulator. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP] .) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP WITH TC] .)
- Remove the air cleaner. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP] .) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP WITH TC] .)
- Remove the turbocharger, exhaust manifold, engine coolant pipe (out side), joint pipe. (BP with TC) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP WITH TC] .)
- Remove the air pipe No.6 and air hose No.8 as a single unit. (BP with TC) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP WITH TC] .)
- Disconnect the vacuum hose and engine harness connectors.
- Disconnect the fuel hose. (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [BP, BP WITH TC] .) (See AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [BP, BP WITH TC] .)
- Remove the intake manifold bracket.
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Verify the engine oil level. (See ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION .)
- Inspect for the engine oil, engine coolant, and fuel leakage.
- Verify the compression. (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION .)
- Start the engine and verify the idle speed. (See IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT .)
