Installation (GF4A-EL)

- Align the manual plate and the manual valve. See Fig 1 . Install the valve body assembly and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Match the harness colors and connect the solenoid valve harness connectors and TFT sensor harness connector.
- Install a new gasket and the valve body cover. See Fig 2 . Tighten valve body cover bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Align the marks, and slide the oil cooler hose onto the oil cooler pipe until it is fully seated as shown. See Figure .
- Install the hose clamp onto the hose. If reusing the hose, install the new hose clamp exactly into the mark left by the previous hose clamp. Verify that the hose clamp does not interfere with any other parts. Slide the radiator hose onto the radiator pipe until it is fully seated.
- Install the hose clamp on the hose. Squeeze it lightly with large pliers to ensure a good fit. Install the splash shield. Fill the radiator and reservoir with the specified amount and type of engine coolant. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING in 2.5L V6 article in ENGINES.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Fill the transaxle with appropriate fluid to proper level and check for correct transaxle operation. See LUBRICATION . Inspect for ATF and engine coolant leakage. Perform the hydraulic pressure and road tests. See PERFORMANCE TESTS in GF4A-EL DIAGNOSIS - 626 article.
