Diagnostic procedure

DTC U0100 - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED 
  • Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2 VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY 
  • Check for related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability.
  • Is any related repair information available?
Yes Perform repair or diagnostic according to available repair information.
  • If vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
3 VERIFY RELATED DTC OR STORED DTCS 
  • Turn ignition switch to OFF then ON (Engine OFF).
  • Verify related stored DTCs.
  • Is DTC U0073 for TCM present?
Yes Go to the appropriate DTC inspection.
(See DTC U0073 )
No Go to the next step.
4 INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF TCM CONNECTOR 
  • Turn ignition switch to OFF.
  • Disconnect the TCM connector.
  • Check for poor connection (damaged, pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair the terminal, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
5 CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
  • Check continuity between following terminals:
    • TCM connector terminal 2J and body ground
    • TCM connector terminal 2M and body ground
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
6 CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO POWER 
  • Measure the voltage between following terminals:
    • TCM connector terminal 2J and body ground
    • TCM connector terminal 2M and body ground
  • Is the voltage B+? 
Yes Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
7 INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF PCM CONNECTOR 
  • Turn ignition switch to OFF.
  • Disconnect the PCM connector.
  • Check for poor connection (damaged, pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair the terminal, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
8 CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Disconnect the PCM connector.
  • Check continuity between following terminals:
    • TCM connector terminal 2J and PCM connector terminal 66
    • TCM connector terminal 2M and PCM connector terminal 92.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to the next step.
9 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC U0100 COMPLETED 
  • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
  • Clear DTC from TCM memory using WDS or equivalent.
  • Start engine and warm it up completely.
  • Is same DTC present?
Yes Replace the TCM, then go to the next step.

No Go to the next step.
10 VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE  Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No Troubleshooting completed.
