Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Has FREEZE FRAME PID DATA been recorded? If yes, go to next step. If no, record FREEZE FRAME PID DATA on repair order, then go to next step.
  2. Check for related service bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability. Is any related repair information available? If no, go to next step. If yes, perform repair or diagnosis according to available repair information. If vehicle is still not repaired, go to next step.
  3. Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. Clear DTC from memory. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Drive vehicle in "D" range and make sure that gears shift smoothly from 1st to 5th. Is same DTC present? If yes, replace TCM. See TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no, repair is complete.
