Self-Diagnostic System: Introduction
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda Millenia and 2001 Mazda Millenia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Before testing transaxle, ensure fluid level is correct. Ensure engine starts with shift lever in "P" and "N" position to ensure proper adjustment of transaxle range switch.
Check for MIL or HOLD indicator illumination with ignition switch in ON position. If either MIL or HOLD indicator is illuminated, check PCM for DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . If neither MIL or HOLD indicator is illuminated, or DTCs are not stored in PCM, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
