"D" Position - O/D OFF switch off

NOTE: NORMAL and SLOPE mode are automatically selected by the PCM. PCM shifts to SLOPE mode when upgrade or downgrade is about 4 percent or greater, and shifts to NORMAL mode when upgrade or downgrade is about 3 percent or less.
  1. Move gearshift lever to "D" position. Accelerate vehicle at half throttle and WOT. Ensure upshifts and downshifts are obtained at shift points specified. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . Drive vehicle in 4th, 3rd and 2nd gears to verify kickdown occurs at shift points specified.
  2. Decelerate vehicle and verify engine braking effect is felt in 4th and 3rd gears. Drive vehicle to verify TCC operation is obtained at operating points specified. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS .
