Installation Note

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda B4000, 2002 Mazda B3000, and 2002 Mazda B2300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

CAUTION: To prevent refrigerant system contamination, do not allow dirt or other foreign materials to enter the A/C compressor.

Clean the compressor nose area.
Place the shaft seal on the Shaft Seal Protector ST 49 UN01 045. Lubricate the shaft seal and the special tool with refrigerant oil.

Position the shaft seal and the special tool over the A/C compressor shaft.

Push the shaft seal onto the compressor shaft with the special tool until seated.

Install the shaft seal snap ring.

Carry out the A/C Compressor-External Leak Test. See A/C COMPRESSOR INSPECTION .
Install the shaft seal felt.

Install the A/C clutch. See MAGNETIC CLUTCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
