Receiver/Drier Removal/Installation

  1. Recover the refrigerant; see REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TESTS  .
  2. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector.

  3. CAUTION: Use a back-up wrench to prevent damage to the tubes.

  4. Disconnect the suction accumulator refrigerant lines. See SPRING LOCK COUPLING  .
    • Discard the O-ring seals.
  5. Remove the three suction accumulator bracket screws and the suction accumulator.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • If a new suction accumulator is to be installed, transfer the A/C cycling switch to the new suction accumulator.
    • Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean refrigerant oil. See REFRIGERANT OIL ADDITION  .
    • Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean refrigerant oil.
  7. Evacuate, leak test, and charge the refrigerant system. See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TESTS  .
