Engine Disassembly/Assembly

  1. Using the bolts part number 99794 1025  or M10x1.25, length 25 mm {0.984 in}  to Install the SST 

    Tightening torque 

    1. 100-125 N.m {10.2-12.7 kgf.m, 73.8-92.1 ft.lbf}

  2. Remove the engine and transaxle from the engine jack.
  3. Disconnect the engine and transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FN4A-EL] .)
  4. Remove the generator. (See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (3.0L) .)
  5. Remove the P/S oil pump. (See POWER STEERING OIL PUMP (AJ) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the intake-air system. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  7. Remove the exhaust system. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  8. Remove the thermostat case and water hose component.

  9. Remove the water bypass tube. (See WATER BYPASS TUBE REMOVAL NOTE .)
  10. Remove the Ignition coils. (See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (MAZDA6 3.0L) .)
  11. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
