On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Connect the SST  (104 pin Breakout Box) to the PCM harness with PCM disconnected.
  3. Remove the oil dipstick.
  4. Adjust the depth of the thermistor probe to that of the dipstick.
  5. Insert the thermistor probe into the filler tube.

  6. Start the engine.
  7. Measure resistance between the terminals 37 and 91 of the SST  at each ATF temperature.
    • If not as specified, inspect the TFT sensor. See INSPECTION OF INDIVIDUAL PARTS .

  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
