Installation (626)

  1. Install engine and transaxle. Install No. 4 engine mount bracket. Tighten lower bolts, then tighten upper bolts. Install No. 4 engine mount rubber. Install No. 1 engine mount bolt and nut, No. 3 engine mount rubber, No. 1 engine mount stay bracket, engine mount crossmember and No. 5 engine mount rubber. Tighten bolts and retaining nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install NEW retaining ring onto end of axle shafts. Coat axle shaft splines and sliding surfaces with grease. Install axle shafts into transaxle with opening of retaining ring facing upward.
  3. Pull outward on axle shafts to ensure retaining ring is seated into transaxle. Install and tighten axle support bearing bracket evenly to specification.
  4. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill engine with oil. Fill automatic transaxle with Dexron III ATF or manual transaxle with SAE 75W-90 gear oil with API rating of GL-4 or GL-5.
  5. Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING . Ensure accelerator cable has .06-.16" (1.5-4.0 mm) deflection at throttle body when installed. If deflection is not as specified, rotate nut on end of cable at throttle body until specified deflection is obtained.
