Installation (626)

  1. Install cylinder head gasket onto cylinder block, paying attention to "L" and "R" identification marks on head gaskets. Install cylinder head. Install cylinder head bolts and tighten in sequence to specification. See Figure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. After tightening head bolts to torque specification, put a paint mark onto each head bolt. Using paint mark as a reference, further tighten head bolts 85-95 degrees in sequence, then tighten an additional 85-95 degrees. See Figure.
  3. Install engine support. Remove No. 3 engine mount rubber. Install generator bracket. Install camshaft. See CAMSHAFT .
  4. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING . Adjust ignition timing.
