Diagnostic Trouble Code Definitions

P0102 & P0103 (2) MAF Sensor Malfunction High Or Low EPC Pressure, Incorrect Torque Converter Clutch Engagement
P0112 (2) IAT Sensor Indicates 254°F (125°C) - Short To Ground High Or Low EPC Pressure
P0113 (2) IAT Sensor Indicates -40°F (-40°C) - Open Circuit High Or Low EPC Pressure
P0114 (2) IAT Sensor Out Of On-Board Diagnostic Range Re-Run On-Board Diagnostics At Normal Operating Temperature
P0117 (2) ECT Sensor Indicates 254°F (125°C) - Short To Ground TCC Will Always Be Off Or Poor Fuel Economy
P0118 (2) ECT Sensor Indicates -40°F (-40°C) - Open Circuit TCC Will Always Be Off Or Poor Fuel Economy
P0121-P0123 (2) TP Sensor Malfunction Harsh Shifts, Abnormal Shift Patterns, TCC Does Not Engage, TCC Cycling
P0300-P0308, P0320, P0340 (2) Electronic Ignition (EI) System Malfunction Harsh Engagements & Shifts, Late WOT Shifts, No TCC Engagement
P0500, P0503 (2) Insufficient VSS Input From ABS Transmission "Hunts" On Grades, Instrument Panel Or Speedometer Malfunction
P0705 C  Digital TR Sensor Circuit Short To Ground Or Open Increase In Control Pressure (Harsh Shifts)
P0708 C  Digital TR Sensor Circuit TR3A Open Circuit Increase In Control Pressure (Defaults To "OD" Position In All Ranges)
P0712 B  TFT Sensor Indicates 315°F (157°C) - Short To Ground Firm Shift Feel
P0713 B  TFT Sensor Indicates -40°F (-40°C) - Open Circuit Firm Shift Feel
P0715 E  Insufficient Input From TSS Sensor Harsh Shifts, Harsh TCC Activation & Engagement
P0720 E  Insufficient Input From OSS Sensor Possible Abnormal Shift Schedule
P0721 E  Erratic Or Noisy Signal From OSS Sensor Abnormal Shift Schedule

P1747 (3) D  EPC Solenoid Circuit Failure If Short Circuit, Causes Low EPC Pressure, Limits Engine Torque, Slips In Gear & 3rd Gear Incorrect
P1780 TB  TCS Not Changing States - Open Or Shorted No Overdrive Cancel When Switch Is Cycled During KOER
P1781 TG  4X4L Switch Closed Or Shorted During KOEO Early Or Delayed Shifts
P1783 B  Transmission Overheating Condition - 270°F (127°C) Increase In EPC Pressure
P1900 E  Intermittent Signal From OSS Sensor Harsh Shifts, Abnormal Shift Schedule Or No TCC Engagement
(1) Only engine performance-related DTCs that may affect transmission operation are listed. For complete list of engine performance-related DTCs, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
(2) See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
(3) DTC can be set by other non-electronic-related transmission hardware condition.
(4) Refer to illustrations to check solenoid on/off operation. See Figure or Figure .
(5) Diagnose DTC by symptom. See appropriate SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS under TROUBLE SHOOTING .
(6) Mazda "B" Series only.
(7) Output circuit check, generated ONLY by electrical conditions.
(8) SSx ISIG communication error. Replace PCM.
(9) If stuck on or not connected, TCC will not engage at 1/3 or less throttle. If stuck off or not connected, TCC will not disengage when brake is applied.
