Test 1 : Insufficient Air (Or No Air) Flows From Front Vents

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn front control panel mode control to each position. If front mode control can be moved to all positions, go to next step. If front mode control cannot be moved to all positions, go to TEST 3: AIRFLOW MODE FROM FRONT VENTS DOES NOT CHANGE  .
  2. Place mode control in vent position. If air does not blow from outlets, go to next step. If air blows from outlets, go to step  5 .
  3. Visually inspect vent for foreign object or obstruction. Clear obstruction from vent. After repair, go to step  9 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
  4. Check instrument panel duct for proper installation. Reinstall duct securely in correct position. If duct is properly installed, check for clogging, deformation or leakage. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to step  9 .
  5. Place mode control in heat position. If air blows from outlets, go to next step. If air does not blow from outlets, check for obstruction. Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  9 .
  6. Place mode control in defrost position. If air blows from defroster outlets, operation is normal. Recheck malfunction symptoms. If air does not blow from defroster outlets, go to next step.
  7. Visually inspect vent for foreign object or obstruction. Clear obstruction from vent. After repair, go to step  9 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
  8. Check defroster duct for proper installation. Reinstall duct securely in correct position. If duct is properly installed, check for clogging, deformation or leakage. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to next step.
  9. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn front control panel mode control to each position to verify repair. If air blows out in all front mode control positions, repair is complete. If air does not blow out in all front mode control positions, return to step  1 .
