Test 3: Airflow Mode From Front Vents Does Not Change

  1. Visually inspect A/C-heater unit airflow mode cable and linkage for proper installation, smooth movement and lubrication. Reinstall and lube as necessary. After repair, go to step  6 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
  2. Check airflow mode cable is correctly adjusted and securely installed relative to airflow mode lever. Adjust airflow mode cable as necessary. See AIRFLOW MODE CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS. If no problem is found, go to next step.
  3. Check front A/C-heater unit for proper engagement of airflow mode linkage, damage to linkage or deformation of cable mount. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to step  6 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
  4. Check front airflow mode doors for foreign material or obstruction. Remove foreign material or obstruction as necessary. After repair, go to step  6 . If no problem is found, go to next step.
  5. Check all front airflow mode doors for damage, proper installation and smooth movement. Repair or replace as necessary. After repair, go to next step.
  6. Operate A/C-heater system to verify repair. If airflow mode from front vents changes, repair is complete. If airflow mode from front vents still does not change, recheck malfunction symptom and return to step  1 .
