Ambient air temperature or IAT PID must read a minimum of 32°F (0°C) to initiate EGR monitor. Perform VEHICLE PREPARATION . Drive vehicle for 5 minutes in stop and go traffic with a minimum of 2 idle periods (30 seconds each). Accelerate vehicle to 45 MPH (35 MPH on Escort and Tracer). Maintain speed for one minute. Stop vehicle and repeat QUICK TEST .
