Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Lincoln Navigator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
With the ignition ON, the IPC and PCM communicate with the ABS module through the GWM. The IPC sends messages to the GWM over the MS-CAN, the PCM uses the HSCAN1. The GWM transmits the messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the module sets DTCs. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the IPC and PCM, refer to the Network Message Chart in Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.
