DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
C0090:16 4WD/AWD Power Transfer Unit Actuator Circuit Voltage Below Threshold AAM - PTU actuator voltage out of range (fault 4.1), PTU actuator voltage out of range (<9V).
C0090:18 4WD/AWD Power Transfer Unit Actuator Circuit Current Below Threshold PTU Stalled: PTU motor current exceeded 20 amps while PTU motor was commanded. Typically sets when motor is shorted. Check motor wiring for short together, then replace the PTU motor. For 2.0L EcoBoost: REFER to: Power Transfer Unit Actuator Motor 2.0L EcoBoost . For 2.7L EcoBoost: REFER to: Power Transfer Unit Actuator Motor .
C0090:19 4WD/AWD Power Transfer Unit Actuator Circuit Current Above Threshold AAM - PTU Current performance plausibility (fault 4.2) No Command Current Performance Plausibility. PTU motor current flow detected (> 1A) when motor command is 0%DC.
C0090:71 4WD/AWD Power Transfer Unit Actuator : Actuator Stuck Cam position sensor (A) and Fork position sensor (B) did not indicate movement when the motor actuator was command on. RESOLVE all PTU position sensor and motor actuator faults first. CLEAR the DTC. Turn the ignition off. Wait 1 minute. Start engine and run for 3 minutes. RETRIEVE Continuous memory DTCs from all modules. If only DTC C0090:71 resets, INSTALL new PTU Motor Actuator. For 2.0L EcoBoost: REFER to: Power Transfer Unit Actuator Motor 2.0L EcoBoost . For 2.7L EcoBoost: REFER to: Power Transfer Unit Actuator Motor .
C00A2:19 Driveline Control Module Power Transfer Unit Control: Circuit Current Above Threshold The AWD module detected excessive current flow in the PTU actuator driver. (AWD Connector pins 13 and 14).
