Main Control Cover: Installation

  1. Clean and inspect the transmission main control cover seal for damage and install new if necessary.

  2. NOTE: Install the studbolts in the correct locations as noted during disassembly.

    Install the front cover and loosely install the bolts.

  3. Tighten the main control cover bolts in the sequence shown.

    Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

  4. Position back the transmission fluid cooler tube.

  5. Tighten the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube fitting.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  6. Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  7. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tube.

  8. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

  9. Install the transmission cooler tube bracket nut.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  10. Connect the transmission electrical connector and the wiring retainers.

  11. Attach the coolant hose to the starter motor bracket.

  12. Install the CAC intake pipe RH.

    1. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

    2. Connect the bypass valve electrical connector.

  13. Position back the EVAP canister purge valve tube.

    1. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
    2. Attach the retainer.

  14. Position back the CAC intake upper pipe RH and tighten the clamp.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  15. Position back the CAC intake lower pipe RH and tighten the clamp.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  16. Position back the lower RH air cleaner outlet pipe and install the bolt.

    Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

  17. Connect the by-pass hose and the vacuum hose and install the clamps.

  18. Tighten the clamp.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  19. Install the underbody shield and the retainers.

  20. Install the upper air cleaner outlet pipe.

    1. Position back and attach the tube.
    2. Tighten the clamps.

      Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

  21. Install the following items:

    1. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH .
    2. Refer to: Air Cleaner .

  22. Fill the transmission with transmission fluid. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
