Fuel Lines: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.
With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release 2.3L EcoBoost .
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .

NOTE: Some residual fuel may remain in the fuel tubes after releasing the fuel system pressure. When disconnecting or removing any fuel tubes, carefully drain any residual fuel into a suitable container.
Disconnect the spring lock coupling and the electrical connector. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings 2.3L EcoBoost .
- Disconnect the brake lines and retainer.
Torque:
133 lb.in (15 Nm)

- If equipped, remove the retainers and the underbody shields.
- Remove the retainers and the shield.
- Remove the nuts, bolts and support brace.
Torque:
1: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm) 2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm) 3: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm) 4: 103 lb.ft (140 Nm) 1: 180 deg.
- Disconnect the fuel line bundle retainers.
- Remove the nuts and position aside the exhaust.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- Remove the retainers and position aside the heat shield.
- Remove the retainers and position aside the heat shield.

- Disconnect the fuel and vapor line quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling 2.3L EcoBoost .
- Disconnect the brake lines and the brake line retainer and remove the fuel line bundle.
Torque:
133 lb.in (15 Nm)
