Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV): Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: The evaporative emission system leak detection pump filter is no longer serviced independently. A new evaporative emission system leak detection pump assembly must be installed.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) .
  3. Remove the fasteners and the shield.

  4. NOTE: Clean the detection pump electrical connector and the immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Disconnect the quick connect coupling and vent hose. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
    3. Remove the fasteners and the EVAP leak detection pump and filter.

      Torque

      : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
