Evaporative Emission Canister - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV): Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) .
Remove the fasteners and the shield.

Remove the bolts from the leak detection filter and pump bracket and position aside.
Torque

: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

NOTE: Clean the EVAP canister immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material.
1. Disconnect the EVAP canister quick connect couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
2. Remove the nuts and the EVAP canister.
