Fuel Tank Filler Pipe: Removal

- 1.WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

- 2.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- 3.
Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
- 4.
Drain the fuel tank. Refer to: Fuel Tank Draining .
- 5.
Remove the rear wheel on the left-hand side. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- 9.
Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- 10.NOTE: Do not remove the hose clamp at the fuel tank filler pipe hose to fuel tank connection. The plastic tank is susceptible to damage with over torquing and or multiple re-torques.
Torque: 36 lb.in (4.1 Nm)
