Side Curtain Airbag: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required. For correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

WARNING: Be. Fore beginning any service procedure in this manual, refer to Pyrotechnic Device Health and Safety Precautions . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Depower the SRS. REFER to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .Headliner - Lowering
Remove the screws.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

1. Slide the bracket up and align the bracket tab to the sheet metal opening.
2. Rotate the top of the bracket away from the sheet metal and detach each of the brackets.

1. Rotate the bracket and align the bracket tab to the sheet metal opening.
2. Pivot the bracket away from the sheet metal and detach the bracket.
3. Detach the pin-type retainer.

1. Rotate the inflator rear tab out of the sheet metal.
2. Slide the inflator. Forward and align the front tab to the sheet metal opening.
3. Rotate the inflator front tab out of the sheet metal and remove the side curtain airbag.
