Pinpoint Test Z : The PRNDL Indicator Is Never On Or Never Displays P: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

If the transmission mode display actual input or transmission gear display actual message is missing from the BCM for less than the programmed length of time, the PRNDL display remains in the last indication mode.

If the BCM does not receive the transmission mode display actual input or transmission gear display actual message is missing from the TCM for longer than the programmed length of time, the BCM and the IPC sets DTC U0101:00.

If the transmission mode display actual input or transmission gear display actual message is missing from the BCM, the IPC defaults the PRNDL display to blank.

IPC DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC	Description	Fault Trigger Conditions
P1706:00	High Vehicle Speed Observed in Park: No Sub Type Information	A continuous memory DTC that sets if the IPC detects a short to ground on the park detect switch input, pulling the circuit low with a VSS input over 16 km/h (10 mph), indicating that the vehicle is in motion.
