Input Shaft Speed (ISS) Sensor: Removal

NOTE:
The ISS sensor shims are model dependent and are not interchangeable. Failure to install the correct shim on the correct speed sensor will result transmission damage.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Disconnect the ISS sensor A electrical connector and remove the bolt.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Remove the ISS sensor A.

NOTE: If removing both ISS sensors, do not exchange the speed sensor shims or damage to the transmission can occur.
Remove and discard the ISS Sensor A O-ring.

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
Inspect the ISS sensor A bore for corrosion and foreign material and clean as necessary.
Sensor B
- Disconnect the ISS sensor B electrical connector and remove the bolt.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Remove the ISS sensor B.

NOTE: If removing both ISS sensors, do not exchange the speed sensor shims or damage to the transmission can occur.
Remove and discard the ISS Sensor B O-ring.

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
Inspect the ISS sensor B bore for corrosion and foreign material and clean as necessary.
