Clutch Actuator: Installation

Inspect the guide tube for wear or damage.

Inspect the clutch actuator lever bushings for wear or damage and install new bushings if necessary.

NOTE: Take extra care when handling the component.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is clean and free of foreign material.

NOTE: Install a new component if it is damaged or has excessive wear.

Inspect the clutch actuator lever boot for damage and replace the clutch actuator levers if necessary. Install the clutch actuator levers.

NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed to the position noted before removal.

NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

Install the clutch actuator lever bolts finger tight.

Install the clutch actuator motors in the transmission case and make sure they rest against the case all the way.

NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

Install the clutch actuator motor bolts finger tight.

Tighten the clutch actuator lever bolts.
Torque: 168 lb.in (19 Nm)

Remove the clutch actuator motor.

NOTE: Make sure the serial number on the spring retainer matches the serial number on the actuator lever. If reusing the spring retainers and actuator levers use the marks made during removal for assembly.

NOTE: The spring may rotate in the seat, this is normal and does not indicate damage or wear.

NOTE: Only tighten bolts finger tight at this stage.

Install the spring retainers and spring retainer bolts.

NOTE: This step is necessary only if new clutch actuator levers are installed.

Remove and discard the clutch actuator lever locks.

Tighten the clutch actuator lever bolts.
Torque: 19 lb.ft (26 Nm)

NOTE: Inspect the sealed bearing, discard if damaged, worn or leaking blue grease.

NOTE: The component can only be installed in 1 position.

Install the engagement bearing.
