4th-Reverse Gear Synchronizer: Installation

- Clean and lubricate the friction ring contact surface of reverse gear.
Material: Motorcraft® Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid / XT-11-QDC (WSS-M2C200-D2)

NOTE: Use care when handling the synchronizer assembly so that the collar does not come off of the hub or the detent balls, springs and plates can fall out of the assembly.
Install the 4th gear-reverse synchronizer hub on a bearing separator. Install the reverse friction ring in the synchronizer hub. Install the reverse gear on the hub. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator
- Install the reverse gear roller bearing. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator
- Press the output shaft into the 4th gear-reverse synchronizer hub. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
- Install a new 4th gear-reverse synchronizer assembly snap ring.
- Install the 4th gear friction ring.
- Install the 4th gear roller bearing.
- Clean and lubricate the friction ring contact surface of 4th gear.

- Install 4th gear.
- Install the 4th gear split washer and retainer.
- Install the 3rd gear roller bearing.
- Install the 3rd Gear Synchronizer. Refer to: 3rd Gear Synchronizer .
