2nd-6th Gear Synchronizer: Installation

- Install the dual roller bearing.
- Clean and lubricate the friction ring contact surface of the 2nd-reverse gear.
Material: Motorcraft® Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid / XT-11-QDC (WSS-M2C200-D2)

NOTE: Use care when handling the synchronizer assembly so that the collar does not come off of the hub or the detent balls, springs and plates can fall out of the assembly.
Assemble the face bearing and the 3-piece friction ring assembly in the 2-6 synchronizer hub and collar assembly. Install the 2nd-reverse gear on the 2-6 synchronizer hub and collar assembly.
- 2-6 synchronizer hub and collar assembly
- Face bearing
- Outer friction ring
- Middle friction ring
- Inner friction ring
- 2nd-reverse gear
- Press the output shaft into the 2-6 synchronizer hub assembly. Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press
- Install a new 2-6 synchronizer snap ring.
- Install the 6th gear friction rings.
- Install the 6th gear bearing.
- Clean and lubricate the friction ring contact surface of 6th gear.
Material: Motorcraft® Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid / XT-11-QDC (WSS-M2C200-D2)
- Install 6th gear.
- Install the 6th gear split washer and retainer.
- Install the 5th gear roller bearing.
- Install the 1st-5th Gear Synchronizer. Refer to: 1st-5th Gear Synchronizer .
