Main Control Cover: Removal

- Remove the battery tray. REFER to: Battery Tray .
- Detach the wiring retainers and position aside the wiring harness.
- Detach the cable retainer, remove the nuts and the battery tray support bracket.
- Loosen the 2 fittings and remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler tubes from the cooler bypass valve.
- Remove the nut and position the transmission cooling tube bracket aside.
- Detach the wiring harness connectors and position aside the wiring harness.
- With the vehicle in NETURAL position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .Engine Front Undershield

NOTE: If an internal problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. If an excessive amount of metal or friction material is present, the transmission will need to be overhauled.
Drain the transmission fluid.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

NOTE: When removing any turbocharger air intake system components, make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. All components need to be inspected and cleaned prior to installation or reassembly.
Loosen the clamp and remove the CAC tube. Clean, inspect, and cover all open ports.
- Remove the bolt and the retainer and position aside the ground cable.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and the wiring retainers and position aside the wiring harness.
- If equipped, detach the wiring harness retainer, remove the nuts and position the cabin heater coolant pump aside.

NOTE: Note the location of the studbolts for installation.
Install the main control cover and the bolts.
