Pinpoint Test C : DTCS P07F2, P07F3, P07F4

C1 PERFORM THE NETWORK TEST ON THE GSM AND TRCM
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the network test on the GSM and the TRCM
Do both the GSM and the TRCM pass the network test?

Yes GO to C2

No For the module that does not respond to the scan tool, REFER to: Communications Network .

C2 CHECK THE PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect GSM C2503 .

Disconnect TRCM C1693 .

Inspect the connectors for damaged or pushed-out terminals.

Measure:

Positive Lead	Measurement / Action	Negative Lead

Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?

Yes

GO to C3

No	REPAIR the circuit.

C3 CHECK THE PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect GSM C2503 .

Disconnect TRCM C1693 .

Inspect the connectors for damaged or pushed-out terminals.

Measure:

Positive Lead	Measurement / Action	Negative Lead

Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?

Yes

GO to C4

No	REPAIR the circuit.

C4 CHECK THE PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO POWER

Ignition ON.

Measure:

Positive Lead	Measurement / Action	Negative Lead

Is any voltage present?

Yes	REPAIR the circuit.

No	INSTALL a new TRCM. REFER to: Transmission Range Control Module (TRCM) .
