Pinpoint Test F : The RF, RR Or LR Window Control Switch Illumination Is Inoperative Or Always On

F1 VERIFY POWER WINDOW OPERATION FROM THE SUSPECT SWITCH

Does the window operate correctly from the suspect switch?

Yes	If the RF window control switch illumination is inoperative, GO to F2. If the RF window control switch illumination is always on, GO to F3. If the RR or LR window control switch illumination is inoperative, GO to F4. If the RR or LR window control switch illumination is always on, GO to F5.
No	REFER to Glass, Frames and Mechanisms .

F2 CHECK FOR ILLUMINATION GROUND AT THE RF WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

Measure the resistance between:

Positive Lead		Negative Lead
Pin	Circuit	Pin	Circuit
C604-1	GD348 (BK/YE)	-	Ground

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

Yes	INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to Glass, Frames and Mechanisms .
No	REPAIR the circuit.

F3 CHECK THE RF WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

Measure the voltage between:

Positive Lead		Negative Lead
Pin	Circuit	Pin	Circuit
C604-6	CBP32 (GN/VT)	-	Ground

Is any voltage present?

Yes	REPAIR the circuit
No	INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules .

F4 CHECK FOR ILLUMINATION GROUND AT THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

Measure the resistance between:

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

Yes	INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to Glass, Frames and Mechanisms .
No	REPAIR the affected circuit.

F5 CHECK THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

Measure the voltage between:

Is any voltage present?

Yes	REPAIR the affected circuit.
No	INSTALL a new LF window control switch. REFER to Glass, Frames and Mechanisms .
