Removal & Installation (Lower Ball Joint)

  1. Remove lower control arm. See LOWER CONTROL ARM . Remove and discard ball joint boot seal. Clamp control arm in a vise. Using Ball Joint Remover (D89P-3010-A), Cup (D84P-3395-A4) and "C" Clamp (T74P-4635-C), press ball joint out of control arm.
  2. To install ball joint, use Ball Joint Replacer (D89P-3010-B), Cup (D84P-3395-A4) and "C" Clamp (T74P-4635-C) to press ball joint into control arm. Use protective cover during installation to protect ball joint seal. After joint is in place, discard protective cover and ensure joint is fully seated. Install control arm and wheel assembly. Check alignment. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
