On-Demand Self-Test

  1. This test is used to verify that no faults exist in electronic suspension system. If a fault is detected, trouble code will be displayed on New Generation Star (NGS) tester with a brief description of fault. Faults detected during self-test are not stored in memory, unless same fault was also detected during normal operation. Self-test should always be performed after any repair has been made to verify repair was successful.
  2. To perform on-demand self-test, hook-up NGS tester. See EQUIPMENT HOOK-UP  under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Rotate dial (on NGS tester) to menu item DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK, and press trigger to select and advance to next screen. Highlight and select VEHICLE DYNAMICS MODULE.
  3. Highlight and select DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODES. Highlight ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST, press trigger to select, then press Button 3 to start. Press trigger. Record any trouble codes displayed. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DIRECTORY TABLE and perform appropriate test under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  .
