Outside Air Temperature Indicator

  1. Display indicates outside air temperature from air temperature sensor mounted in front of radiator support.
  2. Ensure circuit No. 233 (Dark Blue/Yellow wire) between instrument cluster connector C2-1 and air temperature sensor is not open or shorted. Air temperature sensor has Dark Blue/Yellow and Pink/Orange wires with a Brown connector.
  3. Ensure circuit No. 875 (Black/Light Blue wire) at instrument cluster connector C2-1 is properly grounded.
  4. Check resistance between air temperature sensor terminals. Resistance should be 33,000-47,000 ohms at 60-70°F (16-21°C). Replace air temperature sensor if defective.
  5. If air temperature display shows -40°F (-40°C), open circuit exists in wiring. If air temperature display shows 135-140°F (57-60°C), short circuit exists in wiring.
