Check Engine Warning

  1. Instrument cluster reads a ground signal from EEC-IV module to activate warning display. Ensure continuity exists on circuit No. 201 (Tan/Red wire) between instrument cluster connector C1 and EEC-IV module and VIP test connector.
  2. VIP test connector is located on left side of engine compartment, above wheel well. VIP test connector contains Tan/Red, Tan/Orange, Pink/Light Blue and Gray/Red wires. EEC-IV module is located on left corner of firewall, near brake booster, and contains a 60-pin connector.
  3. If wiring is okay, check EEC-IV module. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - EEC-IV article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
