Test SJ, Speed Control Indicator In Instrument Cluster Is Always On

  1. Checking Speed Control Amplifier: Disconnect 8-pin connector from speed control amplifier, and note if indicator goes off. Speed control amplifier is located behind right side of instrument panel, near glove box, and contains a 6-pin and an 8-pin connector.
  2. If indicator goes off, replace speed control amplifier. If indicator stays on, proceed to step 3).
  3. Checking Wiring: Check for misrouted or damaged wiring. If wiring is okay, proceed to step 4). If wiring is misrouted or damaged, repair as necessary.
  4. Checking Instrument Cluster: Disconnect instrument cluster connector C2-2, and note if indicator goes off. See Figure . If indicator stays on, replace instrument cluster. Install door pillar sticker to indicate instrument cluster has been replaced.
  5. If indicator goes off, check and repair Orange/Light Blue wiring circuit between speed amplifier and instrument cluster.
