Test SC, Speedometer Reads Constantly Too High Or Low

  1. Checking Odometer Accuracy: Over known distance, compare odometer reading with distance traveled. If reading is okay, system is operating correctly. If reading is not correct, proceed to step 2).
  2. Checking Speed Sensor Driven Gear: Remove speed sensor from transmission. Ensure correct driven gear is installed for transmission, axle and tire combination. If gear is incorrect, install correct gear. If gear is correct, proceed to step 3).
  3. Checking Drive Gear: Ensure correct drive gear is installed on transmission output shaft. If drive gear is correct, replace instrument cluster. Install door pillar sticker to indicate instrument cluster has been replaced. If drive gear is incorrect, install correct drive gear.
