Instrument Cluster R & I: Removal

  1. Disable air bag system. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Apply parking brake. Unsnap center moldings on both sides of instrument cluster. Remove steering column cover and shroud.
  2. Remove knobs or auto dim and auto lamp (if equipped). Remove instrument panel screws. Pull instrument panel outward. Disconnect electrical connections as necessary, and remove instrument panel from front of instrument cluster.
  3. Disconnect wiring connectors from front of instrument cluster. Disconnect shift indicator from instrument cluster by bending bottom tab downward and pulling shift indicator assembly forward.
  4. Pull instrument cluster outward, and disconnect remaining electrical connections. Remove instrument cluster.
