Fuel Gauge

Fuel gauge displays fuel remaining in the tank. A bad signal or defective sending unit is indicated if only top 2 and bottom 2 bars of gauge appear. A "CO" (circuit open or resistance higher than 181 ohms) or "CS" (circuit short or resistance less than 5 ohms) will be displayed if FUEL REMAINING or DISTANCE TO EMPTY is selected on message center, and open or short exists in fuel tank sending unit or wiring circuit. See Figure . A low fuel alert will be displayed by flashing the fuel pump symbol when remaining fuel is less than 1/8 of a tank.
