Removal [03/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING UNDER COVER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2024 - ]

  2. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY SETTING BOLT

      1. Turn the crankshaft to gain access to the 6 drive plate and torque converter assembly setting bolts and remove each drive plate and torque converter assembly setting bolt while holding the crankshaft pulley set bolt with a wrench.

        HINT: 

        There will be one black colored drive plate and torque converter assembly setting bolt.

  3. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  4. REMOVE VACUUM HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. SEPARATE BREATHER PLUG HOSE

  6. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      *a Transmission Wire Connector *b Rack and Pinion Power Steering Gear Assembly Connector
      *c Shift Control Actuator Assembly Connector - -
      1. Disengage the 3 clamps.
      2. Disengage the claw, rotate the lever and disconnect the transmission wire connector.
      3. Remove the bolt.
      4. Disengage the clamp.
      5. Release the lock, rotate the lever and disconnect the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly connector.
      6. Disconnect the 2 shift control actuator assembly connectors.
      7. Remove the 3 bolts.
      8. Disengage the 4 clamps.
  7. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 64

  8. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

      1. Support the automatic transaxle assembly with a transmission jack.
        NOTE:

        Secure the automatic transaxle assembly to the transmission jack using a suitable adapter, such as a rope or attachment.

      2. Remove the 8 bolts and automatic transaxle assembly from the engine assembly.
        NOTE:

        To prevent damage to the 2 knock pins, do not pry between the automatic transaxle assembly and engine assembly.

  10. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE CLAMP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  12. DISCONNECT INLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15
  13. DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
  14. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL (ATF WARMER) COOLER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17
  15. REMOVE OIL COOLER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  16. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

  17. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

  18. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR

  19. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

  21. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE PLUG ASSEMBLY

  22. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

  23. REMOVE BREATHER PLUG HOSE

      1. Using a screwdriver, remove the breather plug hose from the No. 1 breather plug (ATM).
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to damage the No. 1 breather plug (ATM).

      1. Remove the breather plug sub-assembly from the breather plug hose.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to damage the breather plug sub-assembly.

  24. REMOVE UPPER TRANSAXLE CASE COVER

  25. REMOVE TRANSFER AND TRANSAXLE SETTING STUD BOLT

      1. Using 2 nuts, remove the 4 transfer and transaxle setting stud bolts from the automatic transaxle assembly.
  26. INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
