Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION

  2. SECURE VEHICLE

      1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
        WARNING:
        • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
        • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.
  3. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  8. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  9. REMOVE BATTERY COVER LOCK STRIKER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
  10. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17
  11. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18
  12. INSTALL INVERTER TERMINAL COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  13. INSTALL BATTERY COVER LOCK STRIKER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  14. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  15. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14
  16. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      Nut Connector
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Disengage the 2 claws and open the engine wire terminal cap.
      3. Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire.
        NOTE:

        As shown in the illustration, loosen the nut by moving the tool downward.

      Rotating the lock lever - -
      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

        HINT: 

        Release the lock before rotating the lock lever.

  17. DISCONNECT RESOLVER THERMISTOR WIRE

      Rotating the lock lever - -
      1. Disconnect the connector and disengage the clamp.

        HINT: 

        Release the lock before rotating the lock lever.

  18. REMOVE SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • When disconnecting a wire harness of any component connected to the supply power of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) or when removing the integrated capacitor (integration control supply), make sure to wait 5 minutes or more after turning the ignition switch off for self-diagnosis to complete and the voltage of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) to discharge.

      Do not rotate the spline part (*a) of the shift control actuator assembly.

  19. REMOVE SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR SEAL 
    NOTE:
    • Remove all fragments of the shift control actuator seal.
    • The shift control actuator seal may remain attached to the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter side. Make sure to remove it.
    • Do not use a sharp tool such as a scraper.

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the shift control actuator seal is necessary.
