Installation [09/2023 - ]: Procedure
- INSTALL SHIFT CONTROL ACTUATOR BRACKET
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the shift control actuator bracket is necessary.
- INSTALL INVERTER CASE GASKET
See step 3 - TEMPORARILY INSTALL HYBRID MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY
See step 4 - CONNECT NO. 1 INVERTER BUSBER PLATE
See step 10 - INSTALL UPPER INVERTER COVER
See step 11 - FULLY TIGHTEN HYBRID MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY
See step 12 - CONNECT BREATHER HOSE
See step 13 - INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL RESOLVER THERMISTOR WIRE
- INSTALL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER
Knock Pin - - - Make sure that the knock pins are installed to the engine assembly.
- Align the knock pins with the holes in the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter, and while keeping the contact surfaces of the engine assembly and transaxle assembly with motor and inverter in close contact with one another, temporarily install the bolt (A).NOTE:
- When tightening the bolts, be sure that the contact surfaces of the engine assembly and transaxle assembly with motor and inverter are in close contact with one another.
- Do not apply grease to the inner splines of the transmission input damper assembly or input shaft assembly.
- Make sure that the wire harness or similar items are not pinched between the contact surfaces.
- Do not use excessive force when installing the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter.
- Make sure to align the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter so that the input shaft assembly of the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter will be inserted straight into the inner splines of the transmission input damper assembly.
- When inserting the input shaft assembly of the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter into the inner splines of the transmission input damper assembly, do not shake the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter excessively.
- When installing the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter to the engine assembly, make sure to securely fit the knock pins into the knock pin holes.
- While keeping the contact surfaces of the engine assembly and transaxle assembly with motor and inverter in close contact with one another, install the 8 bolts.
Bolt (A) and Bolt (B)
Torque: 64 N.m (653 kgf/cm, 47 ft.lbf)
Bolt (C)
Torque: 46 N.m (469 kgf/cm, 34 ft.lbf)
Bolt (D)
Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf/cm, 18 ft.lbf)
HINT:
Bolt Bolt Length (A) and (B) 50 mm (1.97 in.) (C) 45 mm (1.77 in.) (D) 35 mm (1.38 in.)
- Align the knock pins with the holes in the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter, and while keeping the contact surfaces of the engine assembly and transaxle assembly with motor and inverter in close contact with one another, temporarily install the bolt (A).
- INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE AND INVERTER STIFFENER
- INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
- INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 - INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
- CONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23
- INSTALL FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2023 - ]
- INSTALL HV WATER PUMP BRACKET
- INSTALL FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER
- INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
Torque: 46 N.m (469 kgf/cm, 34 ft.lbf)
- CONNECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE
- INSTALL NO. 1 TCM BRACKET

See step 2 - CONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- for Front Side:
*a Bolt *b Nut Rotating the lock lever - - - Engage the clamp and connect the 5 connectors.
HINT:
Make sure that the connector is fully inserted before rotating the lock lever to engage the lock.
- Connect the engine wire with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Engage the clamp and connect the 5 connectors.
- for Rear Side:
Rotating the lock lever Engage the lock - Engage the clamp to connect the engine wire.
- Connect the earth wire with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Engage the 3 clamps.
- Connect the engine wire with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Connect the connector to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.
HINT:
Make sure that the connector is fully inserted before rotating the lock lever to engage the lock.
- for Front Side:
- INSTALL STEERING GEAR HEAT INSULATOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [12/2023 - ] - INSTALL NO. 1 INVERTER COOLING HOSE ASSEMBLY
*a 2 to 7 mm (0.0787 to 0.276 in.) *b Paint Mark *c 360° (Claw of Clip Location) *d 50° (Center of Clip Location) *e 150° (Claw of Clip Location) *f Rear Side of Vehicle *g Upper Side of Vehicle *h Left Side of Vehicle *i Pipe Marking *j Pipe Protrusion - Install the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly to the inverter water pump assembly (with motor) and engine assembly, slide the 2 clips to secure it.NOTE:
- Make sure to slide the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly until it contacts the hose stopper of the inverter water pump assembly (with motor).
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly with the pipe protrusion of the inverter water pump assembly (with motor).
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly with the pipe marking of the engine assembly.
- Make sure that the claws of the clip are within the location shown in the illustration.
- Install the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly to the inverter water pump assembly (with motor) and engine assembly, slide the 2 clips to secure it.
- INSTALL NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
*a 2 to 7 mm (0.0787 to 0.276 in.) *b Paint Mark *c 120° (Claw of Clip Location) *d Upper Side of Vehicle *e Right Side of Vehicle *f Front Side of Vehicle - Install the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the motor cooling cooler and engine assembly, slide the 2 clips to secure it.NOTE:
- Make sure to slide the No. 4 water by-pass hose until it contacts the hose stopper of the motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the No. 4 water by-pass hose with the paint mark of the motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the No. 4 water by-pass hose with the paint mark of the engine assembly.
- Make sure that the claws of the clip are within the location shown in the illustration.
- Engage the clamp.
- Install the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the motor cooling cooler and engine assembly, slide the 2 clips to secure it.
- INSTALL WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY
*a 2 to 7 mm (0.0787 to 0.276 in.) *b Paint Mark *c 120° (Claw of Clip Location) *d Upper Side of Vehicle *e Left Side of Vehicle *f Front Side of Vehicle - Install the water by-pass hose assembly to the motor cooling cooler and engine assembly, slide the 2 clips to secure it.NOTE:
- Make sure to slide the water by-pass hose assembly until it contacts the hose stopper of the motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the water by-pass hose assembly with the paint mark of the motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the water by-pass hose assembly with the paint mark of the engine assembly.
- Make sure that the claws of the clip are within the location shown in the illustration.
- Engage the clamp.
- Install the water by-pass hose assembly to the motor cooling cooler and engine assembly, slide the 2 clips to secure it.
- INSTALL ENGINE WITH TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER NOTE:
When replacing the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter, perform "30.ECU CONFIGURATION" after connecting the cable to the auxiliary battery terminal.

Perform the ECU configuration after replacing the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter.
