Removal [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [09/2023 - ]

  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

      1. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel hose from the fuel delivery pipe with sensor assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2023 - ]

  8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    If fuel intrudes into the combustion chamber, there may be adverse effects to the engine main body.

      1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.
      2. Disconnect the 2 No. 5 engine wire connectors.
      3. Remove the 4 bolts and fuel delivery pipe with sensor assembly with the port fuel injector assemblies from the intake manifold.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to drop the port fuel injector assemblies when removing the fuel delivery pipe with sensor assembly.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER

  10. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR

  11. REMOVE PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Attach a tag or label with the corresponding cylinder number to each port fuel injector assembly so that they can be installed to their original locations.
    • Cover the port fuel injector assemblies with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
