Removal [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT INTERCOOLER RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  2. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)

      1. Disconnect the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
      2. Remove the 2 bolts and cam timing oil control solenoid assembly from the timing chain cover assembly.
        NOTE:

        If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      3. Remove the O-ring from the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
        NOTE:
        • The O-ring may stick timing chain cover assembly.
        • Do not drop the O-ring inside of the timing chain cover assembly.
  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) 

    Refer to REPLACEMENT [12/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE ELECTRIC HEATER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]

  5. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  8. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13
  9. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 2)

      1. Disconnect the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
      2. Remove the 2 bolts and cam timing oil control solenoid assembly from the timing chain cover assembly.
        NOTE:

        If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      3. Remove the O-ring from the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
        NOTE:
        • The O-ring may stick timing chain cover assembly.
        • Do not drop the O-ring inside of the timing chain cover assembly.
