Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [09/2023 - ]

  2. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2023 - ]
  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2023 - ] 

  4. DISCONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front flexible hose from the front flexible hose bracket.

      1. Loosen the bolts on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly and remove the bolts on the top side.
        NOTE:

        Do not excessively loosen the bolts on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      1. Tilt the disc brake cylinder assembly and install SST as shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09727-00110

      1. Install SST to the front shock absorber with coil spring.
        NOTE:

        The front shock absorber with coil spring may become damaged if the metal part of SST contacts it. Therefore, install it so that the metal part does not contact the front shock absorber with coil spring.

      2. Remove the bolt on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly and disconnect it.
        NOTE:
        • Do not apply excessive force to the flexible hose.
        • If there is no looseness on the flexible hose, adjust the length of SST.
      3. Remove a front disc.

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [12/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT
