Installation [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT

      *1 Front No. 1 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *2 Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Indicator Plate
      *3 Front Disc Brake Pad - -
      Brake Shim Grease (Part No. 08887-80409) - -
      1. Apply brake shim grease (Part No. 08887-80409) to the front disc brake pads and front No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shims at the positions shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Keep the lining surface of the front disc brake pad free from grease.

      2. Install the front No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shim to each front disc brake pad.
        NOTE:

        When replacing the front disc brake pads with new ones, make sure to replace the front disc brake anti-squeal shim kit at the same time.

      3. Install a new front disc brake pad wear indicator plate to front disc brake pad inner side.
  2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD

      *a Wooden Block - -
      1. Using SST and a wooden block, push back the front disc brake pistons.
        • SST: 09719-77020 
        WARNING:

        Be careful not to get pinched by the disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when installing the front disc brake pads.

        NOTE:
        • Make sure that the brake fluid does not overflow from the reservoir.
        • Do not forcibly push in the front disc brake pistons.

      1. Install the 2 front disc brake pads to the disc brake cylinder assembly.
        NOTE:

        When replacing the front disc brake pads with new ones, make sure to replace the front disc brake pad wear indicator plate at the same time.

  3. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

      1. Install the front disc.

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [12/2023 - ]

      2. Temporarily install the disc brake cylinder assembly with the bolt on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly.
        NOTE:

        Do not apply excessive force to the flexible hose.

      3. Remove SST.
      4. Install the disc brake cylinder assembly with the bolt (A) and bolt (B).

        Torque: 255 N.m (2600 kgf/cm, 188 ft.lbf) 

      5. Install the flexible hose to the front flexible hose bracket with the bolt.

        Torque: 29 N.m (296 kgf/cm, 21 ft.lbf) 

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [12/2023 - ]
  5. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [09/2023 - ]

  6. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2023 - ] 

  7. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [09/2023 - 12/2023] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [12/2023 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system are used.
