Removal [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM RESOLVER INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    If it is necessary to replace the transaxle assembly with motor, make sure to perform resolver initialization before starting work.

    Refer to UTILITY [10/2022 - ]

  2. REMOVE ENGINE WITH TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  3. INSTALL ENGINE HANGER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 45
  4. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INVERTER COOLING HOSE ASSEMBLY

  7. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    NOTE:

    Cover the hole where the shift control actuator assembly was installed with tape or equivalent (non-residue type) to prevent entry of foreign matter, water, etc.

      Release the lock Rotating the lock lever
      1. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.

        HINT: 

        Release the lock before rotating the lock lever.

      2. Remove the bolt to disconnect the engine wire.
      3. Disengage the 2 clamps.
      4. Remove the bolt to disconnect the earth wire.
      5. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the engine wire.
    2. for Front Side:

      *a Bolt *b Nut
      Rotating the lock lever - -
      1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the 4 wire harness connectors to disconnect the engine wire.

        HINT: 

        Release the lock before rotating the lock lever.

      2. Remove the bolt and nut to disconnect the engine wire.
  8. REMOVE TCM 
    See step  6
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 TCM BRACKET 

    See step  7

  10. REMOVE STEERING GEAR HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [08/2023 - ]

  11. DISCONNECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE

  16. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 58

  17. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE AND INVERTER STIFFENER

  22. REMOVE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER 
    NOTE:
    • To avoid damaging the knock pins, do not pry between the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter and engine assembly.
    • To prevent the splines of the transmission input damper assembly from becoming misaligned, do not allow the transaxle assembly with motor and inverter to hit the transmission input damper assembly during transaxle assembly with motor and inverter removal and installation.

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the shift control actuator bracket is necessary.
